
I’m a huge fan of Funkadelic, and they often had those kinds of titles or song titles but most of all, when I’m talking about weird titles it comes from the New York Dolls. Well, it just popped in my head because making this record was kind of an innermost journey to my outermost mind. Where does that come from, and why did you choose a name which is almost impossible to remember! “Laughs” Well, first of all, before we go into the deeper stuff, I have to ask about the title of your solo album. We met with Sami a couple of weeks ago in sunny Helsinki and went through the solo album creation process from start to finish, but not forgetting the colorful past, or the bright future either.

In September of 2021, Yaffa released his long-awaited solo debut album, THE INNERMOST JOURNEY TO YOUR OUTERMOST MIND. In January of 2010, Yaffa announced that they had started a new band with Michael Monroe and this collaboration continues still. In the 2000’s he played with some of the most notable bands in the rock world, such as Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and the New York Dolls. During the 1990s, among others, Yaffa played and recorded with Smack, Jerusalem Slim, Demolition 23, Mad Juana, The Waldos, and Murphy’s Law. Around 1987 Yaffa moved to the States to join the hard rock band, Jet Boy. The band released five studio albums before splitting up after the tragic death of the drummer Razzle in 1985. Yaffa then spent the first half of the 80s as an international rock musician with all its ups, downs, and trappings. In 1980 he become one of the founding members of the classic glam rock band Hanoi Rocks. It all started in 1979 when he joined the punk band Pelle Miljoona Oy at the age of sixteen. Yaffa has had a unique career as a musician.

But Monroe and McCoy announced what would appear to be the final breakup of Hanoi Rocks in 2008, and the group subsequently played a series of farewell shows at Helsinki's Tavastia Club.nn In 2017, Finnish label Ainoa Productions released Rebels on the Run, a compilation of rare B-sides and EP-only tracks from the early '80s, remastered by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Reckless Love).Sami Yaffa is a Finnish bassist, writer, and TV persona – best known for his work with Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls, and Michael Monroe band. Monroe, Suicide, and Yaffa reunited in 1994 as Demolition 23.nn However, Monroe and McCoy re-formed Hanoi Rocks in 2002, releasing Twelve Shots on the Rocks on the Major Leiden label, and started touring once again. Chimes, McCoy, and Suicide formed the short-lived Cherry Bombz, Yaffa joined Jetboy, and Monroe recorded a solo album, Not Fakin' It, that briefly made the U.S. He gave the band notice early in 1985, and the group broke up in May after a farewell concert. (Neil was convicted of vehicular manslaughter.) Razzle was replaced by ex-Clash drummer Terry Chimes, but things were not quite the same for Monroe. The band ended the year with a tour of the U.S., but Razzle was killed in a tragic automobile accident while a passenger in Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil's car. chart single the next year, from the album Two Steps from the Move.

Finland's major export to the world of heavy metal, Hanoi Rocks, drew much of their sound and inspiration from '70s glam rock and were thought by some to have fused the two styles more successfully than similar acts such as Mötley Crüe.
